Overview

Located at 15 Orange Street in Nashua, New Hampshire, Taqueria la dona is a taco haven that delivers genuine Mexican flavors with a focus on traditional recipes and fresh ingredients. This spot stands out for its Birria offerings—a rich, slow-cooked meat served in various forms such as the Birria Plate and Birria Tacos, which have earned near-legendary status among locals and visitors alike. The birria burrito, a crowd favorite, is a meal in itself; wrapped carefully in foil with a side of vibrant green salsa, it offers layers of tender meat and bold spices that unfold with every bite.

The menu also showcases a wide range of authentic dishes including adobada and chicharron tacos, pozole, menudo, and seafood options like Mojarra and shrimp tacos. The flavors are robust and true to their roots, appealing to those who seek both comfort and authenticity in Mexican cuisine. The hot sauces here deserve special mention—they elevate each dish while maintaining the balance, never overpowering the natural tastes.

Dining at Taqueria la dona is a casual affair with space to enjoy your meal on-site, though many patrons opt for takeout to savor the flavors at home. The atmosphere is unpretentious, focusing more on the quality of food than decor, making it ideal for taco enthusiasts and families looking for an authentic culinary escape in New Hampshire. While some have noted minor issues with the setting, the fast, friendly service and the undeniable quality of the food keep customers coming back.

Targeting both locals and travelers craving traditional Mexican fare, Taqueria la dona bridges a culinary gap in the region by offering dishes that evoke memories of home-cooked meals. Whether you’re someone well-versed in Mexican cuisine or exploring it for the first time, this taqueria offers a genuine experience that captures the heart of Mexico’s rich food heritage.

Best place south of manchester to get burritos. If you never visited this place, try the birria burrito first. Get the green salsa. Make sure you don't unwrap all the foil. Start at the top peel as you eat. This is a beast.

The tacos were great. Never even realized this place was right down the street. Only 3 stars for atmosphere because the fruit flys were a pain. Will be back for takeout.

Some of the best tacos in NH, you will not be disappointed. Tortas were meh, the sandwich kind of fell apart, but the tacos are EXCELLENT. Friendly service, quick turnaround. Theres some space to eat in. Highly recommend.

I don't give five star reviews, ever. This may well be the first and last exception to the rule. The food is like nothing else I have had, short of eating at a friend's parents house. The tamales are exactly as I remember Abuela making them when I would eat at my friend's house as a teenager. The Beria burrito maybe the catalyst for world peace and it could certainly end world hunger. If you are looking for real, solid, quality Mexican, just save yourself the heartbreak and come here directly.

This is the absolute best and most authentic place I have found in this region of the country - I travel alot, so I'm very particular about authenticity, and this place aced my expectations. Loved it! Had the shrimp, burria, and steak tacos and a burrito, and it was all delicious - wish I had gotten more tacos - delicious!

WOW!! the be been on the search for a great taco my whole life. I’m one of the whitest guys ever but my GAWD so I enjoy some Spanish food! This place will not disappoint! I got a birria, lengua & a chiccaron taco. The tortillas were soft & had a bite. The meat we cooked to perfection…tender & flavorful. The salsas? A whole different level! The red sauce you could smell immediately and I knew it was going to be delicious & have some heat. The green salsa, just as good for different reasons. It was cool & was refreshing but again, amazing taste!! This is a place that’s definitely worth the drive. Sorry about the long review…I’m passionate about food lol.
